All States Home Improvement has been in business for three decades, but it hasn’t been in an especially visible spot.
That’s about to change.
The business currently is in 10,000 square feet at 776 N. West St. but soon will start construction on a new 20,000-square-foot building on the frontage road on the north side of West Kellogg between Tyler and Maize Road. That’s across from Tractor Supply.
“Business has been very good,” said owner Chris Keeter.
The home improvement company specializes in replacement siding and windows, roofing and bathroom remodeling.
“Our business is expanding, and we’re needing more office space, and we’re needing more warehouse storage space so we can house more material, which we feel will better serve our customers,” Keeter said.
He said it will make everything more efficient.
The pandemic has changed things in the industry with supply chain issues. Keeter said he used to always be able to order materials well in advance of when a customer’s job would start.
“Now we’re getting the material when it’s about time to start the job,” he said. “We’ve had to really, really tighten up and focus and just become better at what we do.”
Keeter said he’s been ordering extra material to have spare items on hand.
“That’s one of the reasons for the warehouse.”
However, he said supply chain issues are “getting better almost daily.”
The new building will have a warehouse, loading dock and showroom.
Keeter said visibility is especially important to him.
“It was a challenge finding . . . visibility and enough space to build a building of that size.”
He hopes the building will be ready by late this year or in early 2023, though he’s still finalizing plan details.
“We’re really close.”
